Nancy Plain examines the life of America's most famous frontier artist. In image after image, Frederic Remington preserved the past for all Americans to enjoy. Throughout his career, Remington created a visual testimony of the frontier years, producing twenty-two sculptures and nearly three thousand drawings and paintings. His works depict an untamed American West, where cavalry and American Indians fought to the death and where cowboys struggled with stampeding cattle on the open range.
