Nicholas Carr -- "The Glass Cage"

Nicholas Carr will speak about and sign his new book, The Glass Cage, on Tuesday, October 14th at 7:30pm.About the Book:In The Glass Cage, Nicholas Carr explores the costs of granting software dominion over our work and leisure. Drawing on psychological and neurological studies that underscore how happiness and satisfaction are tied to performing work in the real world, Carr shows that shifting our attention to computer screens can leave us disengaged and discontented. The Glass Cage explores the impact of automation from a deeply human perspective, examining the personal and economic consequences of our dependence on computers.Vouchers to attend are $5 and are good for $5 off the author’s featured book or a purchase the day of the event.
